Henry was diagnosed with an anaplastic ependymoma brain tumour on the 27th January 2013. He had successful surgery to remove all of the tumour and following a slow recovery he received a high dose regime of chemotherapy. His first Routine MRI scan in June 2013 revealed an abnormality and we were told to prepare for a trip to America for specialist proton therapy.During 2013 we were truly blessed that so many people supported us by fundraising for our family in the case that we would need to travel for further treatment.
Thankfully after several more scans, we were thrilled that Henry could continue with his course of chemotherapy and we decided to use some of the funds raised to try and give something back to others by creating ‘Henry’s Holiday Help.’ We as a small charity, provide local children diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and onwards with some money towards a holiday to enjoy during or after treatment. We also provide support in many other ways to local families wherever we can.
